Now while we are on the topic of personal touch. I am surprised that more people do not know about Creative Memories. I am a consultant for this company and I love it. I go to customers homes and install the Creative Memories software on their home computers and show them how to use it. When was the last time you bought software and called customer support and was put on hold or someone talked over your head and you walked away sooo confused. Several years ago I ran a small home based computer training business. I got calls from newbies, seniors and handicapped who were not comfortable going to group classes. I made a training program just for them and my business grew very quickly due to word of mouth. When I moved, I missed doing computer training. But one day I saw someone doing a demonstration on CITY TV. I contacted this girl right away and got into this business right away. Now I am combining my love for digital scrapbooking with my training background. People are LOVING it. I hold home parties and show customers how to make digital scrapbooks for special occassions or for upcoming events like weddings and babies.

So for those who are just getting into the world of digital scrapbooks I have some tips for you and share a horror story as well. About six months ago I was having problems with my computer, I had a company come to my house, fiddled and played and said don’t worry and they left. Two days later my hard drive crashed!! what do I do?? It was too late to get back in touch with this company, so now I was faced with the problem that many of you have had “What do I do when my hard drive crashes??” There are several back up options, you either burn them on a CD, put them on a stick (memory stick) or buy an external hard drive (like I did) or use an online company like Flikr or Photobucket.. But getting back to my actual story. I LOST EVERYTHING, and it will cost $1,000 to retrieve these photos. Now remember, digital photographs do not come with negatives. If your hard drive crashes they are gone FOREVER. That is why I hold FREE information sessions on how to protect your photos on your computer, choosing the right photo albums so the chemicals do not destroy the photos, using good quality paper and ink, and also putting them into digital life books which will never wear out over time.

Digital life books are a great gift for Valentines Day, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, sporting events, holidays, weddings, funeral commerative books, births…basically every facet of your life can be celebrated in a book. Why not get the family together and make a book together. This is a great tool for family time as you go over all your memories and put them in a life book to be shared by family for many years to come.

What a great way to celebrate their lives by taking photos to them and getting them to tell you the stories behind the photos, then make the book and give it to them. Life is precious, we do not know how long we have with our loved ones. I have lost two sons and my Father, I only wish I had known about Creative Memories back then, but now that I do know I am busy making books in their memory. I have had customers tell me that they have found this software to be a god send for them. All you have left after your loved one is gone is photos. Being able to put all these photos in a book was like therapy for them, then they shared it with other family members using the share button on my website.
